ABOUT

The School’s Out project aims to create a better school environment for LGBTI students by increasing the knowledge of teachers on including LGBTI topics in classes and how to address the issue of school bullying. It deals with the challenges LGBTI and gender non-conforming students face in schools, by training teachers and guiding schools on how to implement LGBTI and gender inclusive policies.

The project is built on three main stages. It begins with a research aiming to map the good practices on school inclusion in the partnering countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy and Portugal. The research results are used as a base for the development of tools, trainings and an inclusive school cycle program to help schools to improve the inclusion of LGBTI students. The training and the program are then to be tested in different schools in the four partnering countries. In the final stage of the project, the partners will launch a poster campaign promoting the inclusive school cycle program in schools.
